Oh dear, I am an intermittent blogger at the best of times but a gap of over a month! Tut tut, that will never do. The truth is I occasionally fall into black holes and they can be difficult to get back out of. Still, I'm here now.
I have made a few things over the past couple of weeks but I don't want to blow my entire stash in one go, so to speak so I'll post them in stages.
First up then is a piece of embroidery. The story behind this starts on twitter. I follow someone who posts quotes from Shakespeare's plays and they posted "O, that I knew thy heart!" which I thought would be just perfect on an embroidered heart - I know, I'm ridiculously soft.

I wanted a fairly old-fashioned look so went with a floral theme. I stuffed the heart with pillow stuff and lavender so it would stink nice.
It sounded to me like a plea to a lover, "oh if I only knew if you felt the same", kind of affair, so I made the O a lot bigger to imply all the doubt, fear and anguish even that can be felt. I did a bit of research and found that the line actually comes from one of the most harrowing scenes in that gore-fest that is Titus Andronicus! Oh well, don't tell anyone eh.
